The following actions are to be taken in an emergency. Once completed, call the Poison Center for further instructions. 1.800.222.1222

Inhaled Poison- Move the person into fresh air. Avoid breathing fumes. Open doors and windows wide.

Poison on the Skin- Flood skin with water for 10 minutes. Wash gently with soap, water, and rinse.

Poison in the Eye- Flood eye with lukewarm water poured from a large glass 2 or 3 inches from the eye. Repeat for 15 minutes.

Swallowed Poison- Do not give anything by mouth before calling a poison center. Note that Syrup of Ipecac should never be used without the advice of the poison information center or your physician. In certain cases, it may even make the situation worse.

Do not follow emergency instructions on product labels. Some may be out of date, and/or list incorrect treatment information. Also, keeping a first aid kit that fits your environment is recommended.
